isnt the 791 a key in the box style bypass ?? that wont work with your truck you need either an xk01 or GMDLBP i have used the DEI 1701G in the past with no issues

its a passlock based antitheft. the bulldog 791 will work. just make sure you program and connected the wires properly.

Im not familiar with the Bulldog bypasses, but my question would be does it require you to cut the yellow passlock wire or just tap on to it? When DEI replaced the 555L/556L(cut passlock wire) with the PLJX(dont cut passlock wire) I started having issues with basic passlock 2 vehicles. Now its a GMDLBP or and idatalink ads-dl. they would both cost you a few extra bucks but are basically bulletproof bypasses and you would also get keyless entry with factory arm/disarm.

Here is the install guide for the Bulldog 791 bypass:  https://www.bulldogsecurity.com/pdf/Model791.pdf

Install on a PassLock II does require cutting the yellow wire.  I have never used them on a PassLock II vehicle, so I can't comment on their reliability but I agree with Blanx218.  The iDatalink ADS DL is my preferred solution for PassLock II.

it does need to be cut, just make sure you solder the passlock wires. maybe its just by luck but when i connect them and try to start, it wont work until i solder them.

just my stroke of luck i guess.
