Hey all, Newbie here and Im a bit rusty with my auto electric. I recently installed a Avital 2101 Keyless Entry Central Locking kit and it works great. I now want to add the progressive unlock feature and Im a little unclear on exactly what I need particularly- an additional relay?  I did a search for Avital Progressive and didnt see much.

Vehicle is a 2001 Ford Ranger 4x4 with no original power equipt.

I have the 5 wire motors with the purple wire as lock connected with the GREEN/ Blk of the Control Unit #30 Common Output.

The brown wire from the motors as unlock connected with the Blue/Blk #30 Common Output.

Red of course is Constant 12V power.

Black- Ground.

White from Control Unit- HeadLite switch.

Yellow from Control Unit- Ignition Input

Thanks,

Mike

Ooops, I submitted the previous post too soon,

I also have the Blue (-) wire from the Control Unit for the 2nd Unlock Out put, my main questions is where do I connect this? To the same unlock wire on the passenger side lock motor?

Thanks,

Mike

The sensing wires of the driver door motor will have to be disconnected firstly, then cut the unlock leg of the driver motor, and wire a relay like this

Pin 87 and 86- constant fused twelve at five amps

Pin 87@- ground

Pin 85- Take the original unlock feed here ( replace the first unlcok feed from the central unit with the second unlock wire)

Pin 30- To the motor unlock lead of driver (you must cut the lead and send the signal to the driver motor only)

Awesome, thanks T&T,

The only question I have is: What is the sensing wire of the driver's door motor is that one of the 5 wires? The reason I ask is I have it hooked up to a switch and I want to make sure the switch still works after I wire in this relay.

Thanks Much!

The sensing wires will be he ones that switch to ground according to the position of the actuator, you just need to cut the wire that sends the unlock signal to the central locking unit basically, and yes your switch will still function however it will lock all doors and unlock all except the driver's door!

Ok, I know Im a bit cray but isnt there a way to keep the switch working for both drivers and apssengers side for a progressive unlock. Even if using 2 relays. I'd really like to keep the switch doing both sides-lock and unlock.

Thanks!

two one amp diodes from the switch only, bands towards switch, one to each unlock relays!
