Halfway up page 2 2005 BMW, it runs to 6 pages because the poster's an idiot! Your vehicle will be the same except tach wire may not be at the diagnostic socket, the alternative is the same black wire to one of the plugs behind the instrument panel. Don't go to the BCM behind the glove box, or follow the instructions telling you to pick up the locks at the centre console, everything you need bar hood switch is under driver's dash or passenger floor loom.

About once every 3 times you arm it it "spikes" through the trunk light circuit, 1N4004 diodes on the RED / yellow power feeds, bands towards lights. Or don't connect the trunk trigger! Powering the lock/unlock where I suggest also controls the factory arm/disarm.

I saw the picture on the previous post. But to clear it up, just put a diode inline on that wire in the trunk (drivers side it looked like)

Also when i did that car before I had an issue with the brake wire. Identified the wire and it tested fine (BROWN / white + at swtich), but when we hit the brake to shut down it wouldnt do it. Had to manually shutdown car and restart. Thought it was maybe an issue with the parkinglight wire but i never figured it out.

Clutch wire bypass by chance? parking brake wire and easiest location?

You're right about the brake light, on Euro versions it's switching data not voltage, I've picked them up as GREEN/ black one side and blue/black the other for 12volts but NOT at the switch. Having said that Bulldog gives a different colour so have a look at their site.
Parking brake, rear of inst. panel, open up the quad-plugs use a DMM and see which wire goes to ground on pulling up the parking brake, OR rip apart the centre console, it's not that hard to get at.
We don't have clutch switches Ha ha, can't help you there!
There are two lights in the trunk, you will need to diode both sides, also every wire you need, for your (our) purposes, the M3 = E46

Sorry, every market bar North America uses amber indicators and we use these rather than the parking lights, use Bulldog or Directwire for your info, incidentally did you see his last post, I so wanted to say "I told you so".
Remember gray VALET key with 556U NOT regular key, also you must connect ignition 2 from your unit to the car's ACC Purple (or violet) wire, this is because the acc on the car stays live during cranking and takes part in starting the car. Don't use your unit's ACC output.
