I have the clifford matrix rs3 alarm system installed in my 93' jeep grand cherokee. i want to add the proximity sensor so that i can leave my windows open and whatnot with summer coming up. what wires do i tap into, and do i need any relays or diodes to complete this? also where should i put the proximity sensor itself? thanks a lot

cut the harness it comes with, tap the green and blue to the multiplex input(blue on the RS3 I think), hook the ground to the ground when armed(orange) on the RS3 and the red to a 12v constant, probally at the steering column on the ignition harness.

Look for the shock sensor harness. It's a small 4 pin connector w/ red, black, blue, and green. The green isn't connected to anything, and is meant to be connected to a DEI dual stage sensor, such as a proximity sensor. It is a multiplexed input that will sense either a warning or a trigger from the sensor.
When using a DEI 508D (dual stage proximity sensor), connect the blue and green of the sensor to the green of the shock sensor harness going to the alarm. Then connect the red and black to the red and black of the same harness.

I am going through the same thing. But the sensor that came with my RS3, a DEI 504C, wiring is red, black, blue and orange. I am guessing that the orange wire on the sensor I have should be the green wire on the sensor being spoken about here. Please help. Did I get a different sensor with my RS3? Let me know, Thanks !

I was going to do the same, but when I looked in the VIper 790XV instructions about the shock sensor plug input, it said "do not use these for anything besides the plug in shock sensor". I'm guessing the red wire can't source enough current or the black wire might not be able to sink anymore current for more than 1 sensor. I've been told the 508D uses about 200mA. I just cut into the main 12V wire going into the alarm. x6369x wrote:
