Sorry im a newbie to this but what do you mean by (-) thru 1k? do i have to put some kind of resitor or something to connect the parking light wire from my security system? i have a avital 2100L thanks in advance ------------- Jasonfrmtx

place a resistor inline with the negative parking light output.

Two more question tedmond what size/kind of resistor and do I just place it between the wires?

any resistor of correct resistance will work. you will place it inline as in wire-resistor-wire.

How do I find out the correct Watt resistor I found the 1k but there is 1/8 thru 1 watt resistors

Thanks again tedmomd now my problem is the horn comes on during panic mode but won't come on when I lock/unlock the doors. I have an avital 2101l keyless entry system

if you want the horn to honk during lock/unlock I think you have to turn on the features if I remember correctly. try pressing lock twice quickly, the horn should honk....

the unit will honk on double unlock and double lock. if i remember there is no option to change it to honk on lock/unlock. ------------- Ted

Hey guys thanks for your tips but they didn't work. The people who installed it said it needs a module but u figure if the panic button triggers the horn why can't the lock or unlock do it?

The avital came with the truck from the dealer I bought the viper but I need the wiring diagram for the truck to connect the remote start
