hi i installed a remote/alarm in my honda accord 1998 and i am having issues with the 791 bypass module.i followed the instructions corectly and i feel it activate when i turn the ignition on i wrapped that wier around the transponder by the key tumbler (well at least i think im doing it right) can any one please tell me how to do it or post a pic?thanks

To be sure it's the transponder, insert the key in the ignition barrel in the off position and attempt to remote start, if it does, then we can trouble shoot the bypass! What unit are you using?

hi t&t techthanks for answering when the key is in the igmition barrel it starts up fine im using it says universal learnig by pass moduel

Ok we have a bypass problem! I've never used that unit before, can you post up the wiring and what you have it connected to in the vehicle, also ensure you have that ring around the ignition barrel as snug and as close to the head of the barrel as possible!

Make sure the orange lead from the 791 goes to constant ground, blue lead connects to the ground out while running from your remote start. Red goes to +12V.
Key Location:
On a 791, when used as a transponder the first thing you want to do is squeeze that black band that the key fits in together (rubber may crack but thats ok), then when you slide the key into the side , the band will be tight around the head of the key. Also ,you may need to move the key in or out a little till you find the right spot...once you get it working wrap tape around it or zip tie it so key doesnt move.
Transponder ring location:
The loop antenna at the ign. switch needs to near the keyhole end of the ign.switch, close to the factory transponder ring. Tape it or zip-tie it so it doesnt move. ------------- Lectric Guy

i cant seem to find wiring for the module on line but as lectric guy posted i have the the orange lead to constant ground and the red to the ignition,i dont have the blue lead to ground while running.ill try that now for the key its just a circuit board with a bunch of white wires on top of it does not fit thight around the head of the key. it came with double stick tape.and the loop antenna wrap it near the key hole as many times as i can?

the 791 bypass, the key sits inside the box.
its not self learning.

do i just tape it to the board?cause i got two pieces of tape do i tape it to the whie wiers?

Are you certain you have a 791? The 114 bypass from Bulldog has white wires and a wire which you must loop on the ignition. The 114 box is small, and the key typically sticks out of the box. The 791 has a black rubberized key loop and a preformed ignition loop. THe 791 box is lage enough to enclose the entire key. In either case, you need to fit the key head inside the wires. If you have the 114, you can apply double sided tape under the key, with the white wires over the key head. The ignition loop should go over the ignition cylinder as many times as possible (3 or 4 is usually possible).
