I installed a CM4200DX a few weeks ago and everything's been working flawlessly until yesterday. When I tried to start the car the starter cut out for some reason, which triggered the hazard lights to start flashing (it's some sort of safety feature the car has), after this the hazards and siren stopped working when I lock or unlock the car. The hazards still work through the when I turn them on through the stock button, and it still locks/unlocks and arms properly. Also, I've used the hazards before without causing any problems, and I have the hazard trigger wire from the alarm going through a relay to change the polarity from (+) to (-). I can understand the hazards not working, but why the siren? Did I somehow fry something inside the alarm module?

Have you tested the outputs with a dmm, not to be harsh, but we really can't tell you if something's fried from behind a PC, seriously!

I would have never thought it was in valet mode, i'm so accustomed to dei, even though it's in valet, the lights still flash, i need to learn to keep quiet when i don't know anything! LOL!

Really? I wonder how that could've happened. I'll try that today. And I just wanted some opinions before I pull out my glovebox and screw up the tidy wires behind it.

You guys are awesome, I took it out of valet mode and it all works now. I think what happened was I cycled the key 5 times when the starter was acting up (the key can't be turned to start twice unless it's cycled to off, to prevent using the starter when the car's running I guess), that would activate valet mode.

I think what happened is very similar to the customer recently who complained about his triggering whilst driving. I showed how it COULD NOT happen with the ignition on and please to stop playing with his remote a) whilst driving, b)till he understood that repeatedly pressing the lock/unlock button will cycle through to panic mode!
