I bought a 2001 Ford Explorer and having a problem uninstalling the Crimestoopper RS900 VI and 555U ad on.

I was in the middle of doing repairs to the engine but also started to uninstall the remote start stuff.

ftp://cj136.gotdns.com/files/Explorer/Headace/DSCN8213.JPG

My engine will not start. I can't communicate with the CPU through OBD II Diagnostics connector.

I have removed and taped the parallel connections to the high current 7 pin connector that connects to the ignition connector.

The eleven pin connections I have a problem finding where they go. All wires are cut.

Also the 3 pin balck connector on the side and the 3 pin white connector blue/RED / green!

I downloaded the manual for the RS900 VI but its not clear how they get hooked up to my perticular vehicle.

Also there was a relay that was powered off12V to battery from the ignition connector and it had a blue wire output that was not hooked up.

AND on the 555U there are 2 connectors. The white one goes to the key via a coiled wire around it. WAS THAT PART BOF THE ORIGINAL VEHICLE....IF SO WHERE DOES THE WHITE CONNECTOR GO?

Thanks for your help......

What makes you think the Crimestopper is the problem? Even if the system was an alarm (I am pretty sure the RS900 was only keyless/start without security) and going off, it would only stop the starter, not keep you from being able to communicate with the vehicle via the OBDII.

With that said...if the unit has a starter kill circuit simply finding the cut factory starter wire and reconnecting it would allow you to crank the starter. Looking at your pictures though, it does not appear that the RED / blue starter wire was cut.

The 555U ring can be removed...as the factory "ring" is in a hard plastic casing around the key cylinder. Just trace back all the wires to where they tap into the vehicle's wiring, disconnect them and insulate where you removed the connections.

Don't forget to take the key out of the 555U.

OK....there is communication to the computer. It turns out my ELM327 OBDII went bad.

The vehicle starts then stalls I don't know if its because I removed the remote start box or engine problems.

Al the ignition wires are fine....I just clipped the wire close to the solder connection and taped them real good.

So this wire/coil can be removed...Its not needed or hooked up anywhere else...right?

what did you mean here?

"ust trace back all the wires to where they tap into the vehicle's wiring, disconnect them and insulate where you removed the connections. "

Thanks,
