ok i just purchased an alarm for my 97 avenger i would like to say i have been installing stuff in cars since i was 12 yrs old and have over 20 yrs exp but this is the first time ive ever tried to tackle an alarm of this caliber remote start  bought a window module a voice box  a mercury trunk sensor and a motion sensor

i have a few lingering questions before tackling this

1 how in the world do i wire up the mercury switch to a viper 7900 alarm it has two wires it came with no instructions

2 am i suppose to unhook and do away with the shock sensor to install the motion sensor? or do i keep the shock sensor and cut off the end of the plug and hard wire it in ? would rather have both if possible

3 am i missing any  relays i may need ie locks etc according to everything i see i dont need any 2 wire locks 1 to lock - and one to unlock -

4 and lastly my remote came with a warning that it was not programmed to the system so i need to take it to shop to have it matched up to my system or will simply following the  program  stuff i find in the install manual surfice ?

i would like to say ty in advance to all who help me here

One side of the tilt switch goes to ground, the other goes to the trunk input.

I would focus on getting the alarm and door locks to work before going to the remote start.  I would leave any additional sensors / modules until the very end.  If you are not an experianced alarm installer the troubleshooting will be a nightmare if you try to install it all at once.  You can keep the shock sensor and the motion sensor.

You should be able to program the remote to the brain by following the instructions.

I don't know this vehicle, perhaps Kevin can help but why a mercury tilt switch for the trunk? Apart from dubious legality of using a poisonous substance, there's an existing trigger which would be far more effective. Did you really mean tilt for the hood?
The prox is hardwired to the shock just use diodes on the triggers with their bands away from the 7900.
The locks are BROWN / white lock and brown unlock, either DKP or the lock control relay beneath the radio.
I don't even know what an Avenger is, all I did was to look at the vehicle wiring section here. It will answer all your questions. The green and blue lock wires with this unit will be sufficient. Programme it yourself, it's easy enough on Vipers, just follow the instructions.
