I have an 1988 Chevy K1500 two door pickup with the stock power locks. I hooked up a viper 350 hv and I am now having trouble with getting the relays working. I connected the wires correctly for the 5-wire reversal but every time i give the relays power the unlock gets a full 12v hold and it stays there until I take the power off. This happen to anyone else? I have no Idea what is wrong and I am new to all this alarm stuff, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Recheck the wiring of your relays.  There is something not connected properly.

Ok, been busy so I only got more time to work on this today. I went back and checked all my connections, and they were correct. Checked all the wires with a meter and they are all recieving the right power. The only thing it could possibly be is faulty or incorrect relays. but i need help identifying these relays! What are the relays that are supposed to be used for this job??

you should be using a 30/40 amp 5 pin relay and wired as follows:

1st relay pin 85 (-) unlock from alarm, pins 86, 87 to +12v, 87a to switch side of unlock wire, 30 to motor side of unlock wire.

2nd relay pin 85 (-) lock from alarm, pins 86, 87 to +12v, 87a to switch side of lock wire, 30 to motor side of lock wire

Standard automotive SPDT relays rated at 30 amps should do it.

Wiring should be like the Type C diagram shown on page 8 of this guide:  https://www.bulldogsecurity.com/pdf/RS102_112_122.pdf

or

This site has the wiring diagram also:   https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#5w

If just plugging the +12 volt supply fuse to the relays gives a constant unlock output, it sure sounds like the unlock relay is mis-wired.  The relays should be transparent and should allow normal lock operation ( pin 30 to 87a ) with no lock / unlock signal coming for the Viper unit.  Did you check the unlock output from the Viper.  Maybe that is the reason  the unlock relay  goes active when you apply power.

Soldering is fun!
