Installed a Python 991 alarm/auto start with EVO CHR(2)(by Fortin)Bypass module on a 2006 Ram Diesel.Iam not too familiar with DEI products.
Bypass programmed fine but when remote start is used, the security light on the dash stays flashing even after the ignition key is used.Fortin tech support told me to try a few things but no luck.
Everything is fine if key is used to start the truck.
The next thing is stepping on the brakes doesnt shut the auto start on one push, takes 3 or 4 pushes to shut it off.
Same if i disconnect brake wire and apply 12 volts.
Any feed back will be much appreciated.

I flashed it to the current 2.03 version. The security light is okay now after programming the bypass like 4 times. The other issue is that at times when i put the truck in reverse and once in drive, the horn honks once like when you lock the door with the remotes.I have noticed that it has honked when the gear selector display on the instrument panel does not show the box around the selecton it is in.
The truck is not with me at this time but when i get it back,i may try hard wiring the door locks instead of the bypass module.

the 991 might be defective. if youre applying 12v to the brake line shutdown and it takes a few attemps, you should get it replaced.
