i have a 1994 mazda b series with power locks.i am changing out the door panels to a 2000 ford ranger panel and the door lock switches are completely different. i am not very knowledgable in this area and would be very thankful if some one could tell me or better yet show me how to fix this problem.my mazda has 5 wires to the switch .1 always + ,2 ground and 2 that become + when locking or unlocking respectively. the ranger switch has only 3 wires. thanks in advance for your help.

When you say switch here do you mean an actual rocker switch or a five wire actuator in the driver's door? If it's a rocker switch then you're shifting from a reverse polarity setup to a negative trigger setup! Which is pretty straightforward!

When you answer my question then i will be able to assist you! Cheers!

OK! The find the two wires that alternate between twelve with locking and unlocking, these would be the motor wires,  cut them off from the switch and wire like this!

The input on the relay for the alarm lock and unlock output would be where the two trigger wires of the new rocker switch would connect to, one on each terminal,  the common terminal goes to ground (wire should be black, most likely).

Do you have the plug that goes to the switch on the Ranger panel, hopefully with at least a few inches of wire on it?

How many wires on the Ranger switch?

How many wires on the B Series switch?
