I have been installing a Hornet 554t on my 95 Accord coupe EX for a few hours and have run into some roadblocks.
Q1: It seems as though the alarm can send signals to the remote but the remote cannot send signals to the alarm. My evidence is that a few times the remote received a vehicle pager mode indicator, but I can't arm or disarm the system or remote start the car and the LED never blinks. I don't know if those are based on a few seperate issues wiring issues or just the remote.
Q2: (based on the first) Why doesn't the system lock the car when the engine starts, even though it unlocks the car when the engine stops (I've checked the wires, green from alarm goes to ->black&white in the car and blue from the alarm goes to ->orange in the car. This lack of locking is further evidence of the systems lack of "arming" type functions, i.e. not remote starting, not arming, etc.
Q3: The remote start doesn't even try to come on, i think because the alarm is not and has never been armed. It can't remote start with the system unarmed, can it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Paul

What do you mean 12 switched?

The tech support I called (the company I bought it from) told me the remote didn't need to be programmed.  Though I had noted a remote programming section (which I didn't do well with), I figured that was for additional remotes or something.

Thanks for your replies.

You were right about the red being attached to a switched wire. I hooked it up to the battery and now it works! only thing is that i can only disarm/unlock the doors, when i press arm, it does nothing. I think it is either a problem from when i tried to program the remote myself, i may have changed the code, or something related to why the system wont lock when i start the car, but will unlock when i stop the car. Is there a way to erase everything i may have done to the system, but still keep the remote to the factory setting (which, surprisingly was already programmed to the alarm)?
thanks for the help you've already given me,
Paul
