Is it possible that the grey/white tach wire in a 95 grand cherokee could be different in a 95 grand cherokee with a 4.0l ?

The tach on a 1995 Jeep GC is a GREY/BLUE wire at the PCM ( high on passenger side firewall under hood.) regardless of engine displacement.
