I just got my dual zone proximity sensor from Jeff. It's a 4 wire sensor. Wire for wire it matched my shock sensor including the molex plug. Thus I just unplugged my shock sensor and plugged in the proxmity sensor instead.
The sensor works-sort of. I tried turning up both zones to the max and it will only trigger when you're about 1 foot away from the sensor. I tried placing it in plain view at the top of my dash and it won't even trigger when I move my hand over the winshield - directly above the sensor.
Other combinations I've tried is external zone all the way up, and internal zone all they way down.. and vice versa.
Is the sensor defective? The only thing I can think of is maybe it's not getting enough voltage since I'm using the shock sensor input. (the shock sensor is unplugged) Any help would be appreciated.
I just sent you the wiring information for the perimeter sensor. Diode isolation is required and piggyback the perimeter sensor to the impact sensor and plug the impact sensor into the alarm brain.

I just unplugged the shock sensor and plugged in the prox. sensor alone. Wire for wire it matched and the molex plug was a perfect fit. Shouldn't it work this way?
Use the LED lights to help you adjust the sensor. Also, try the diagram that I gave you as this method has worked on all the systems that I have used. If you have a DMM, make sure you test the wires to ensure that it is getting a 12 volt signal as well as the trigger is outputting a (-) signal from the sensor to teh alarm.

I just tested all wires with a DMM and I'm getting the proper readings. The lights on the radar sensor work as well. I believe the green is warn away and the red is full response.
The sensor has a lot of problems penetrating even through glass. For instance I can place it on the dash. Now the winshield is not tinted and It will only pickup movement about 1 foot from the sensor at most. The exterior sensitivity is turned all the way up. I even tried turning up the interior as well.
If I put down all my windows and open the sunroof it will trigger if I stick my hand inside the car. I can litterally hit the car, lean on it or do anything outside without it even giving a warn away. Even with the windows down.
The car is a 1998 Neon Sport and I can't imagine anything interfering with the sensor.
Thanks for your help, this is driving me nuts.
