I have what is probably a couple simple questions.
First when installing the 530T the purple and PURPLE / black are for the motor grounds. Do these need to goto a specific wire or just any ground (ie the same place as the ground wire for the module)
Second do I need to worry about hooking up too many grounds to one spot? I tied the 530 ground to one off the power window switch harness and this is where I was going to tie the purple wires into also if they needed any ground.
I would ground the module black, purple and purp/blk wires to a single point ground on the chassis of the car. Use a factory bolt or grounding point. Just make sure to sand the paint off the surface you are ground to. I wouldn't tap into the factory grounding wire of the motor switch. It is only designed to conduct a certain amount of current and you don't want to have malfunctions. Follow the directions of the install manual to a T
The directions say Motor 1 ground path and motor 2 ground path and then the ground for the module. I will take a look and see if I can find a bolt to use or just get a self taping screw. I'm trying to leave the module in the door and protect it from water to make it easier so I have less wires to run through the door (still trying to figure out how to run them through the door)
You can ignore the last post I have decided i'm going to actually mount it under the dash becuase I want the one touch for both drivers and pass windows and to do so I have to interface between the pass switch and motor on the pass side of the car so I have to run wires over there. I'm going to remove the module and resolder the connections I cut into for the pass side.
Anyone have any tips on how to run wires into the doors on a 92 integra?
Better idea, you will have better grounds than inside the car. Having said that I've run loads of window closers and door release solenoids to the window switch grounds with no ill effects.
Running into the doors is a right nightmare on all Hondas. You effectively need to use a right angle drill on the leading edge of the door or go through the door's molex plug, then through the grommet on the car side.
So howie it would be best to tap into the window switch motor wires for grounds vs the chassis? I was just going by here say on my previous post.. let me know because I will installing a 530t on my Lancer as well. thanks
you should never tap onto a wire for ground. always use a bolt or screw directly to the body of the car. the purple and PURPLE / black will need ground at all times so go to the body of the car
