Wiring is the same with the exception of lock control. Please see previous posts on 3 Series. What are make of alarm R/S you installing?

The 04 shouldnt be an issue the 06 X5 might have electronic ignition. FYI

You might need Fortins INT-BMW1 and you can use the CANSLPL for the CANBUS features.
