Hi, I already have my CT 3200 5 way remote starter installed in my car and it worked fine. I broke my remote starter remote into pieces and bought a new one.

I am trying to program it but I can't seem to get it to work. The only directions it has is:

1. FLASH the Hood Pin Switch.
Before the 20 seconds have passed, turn the Ignition Key to the IGNITION ON (RUN) position.
Turn the IGNITION to OFF.
2. Press and hold the LOCK button until the vehicle gives 5 flashes. The Module has
stored the Transmitter in its memory.
3. Close the Hood, to exit.

First, I have no clue what it means by "Flash". Second I believe I found the hood pin switch under my cars hood but there are no wires attached underneath. So I can't see what it would do. I tried pressing it but nothing happened.

Any ideas? I drive an 06 cobalt ss if that helps any.

Correction, the remote is a CT 3400.

this PDF describes step by step how to program your new transmitter.

The gray hood pin switch wire has to be hooked up to get into programming mode(flash mode)

you may have to access the alarm brain if gray wire is not hooked up or you cannot locate it

hope this helps. read from page 8 to 11

dont use the hood pin, just find the unit and use the black programming button on the side, its much easier,

just make sure your hood is up.
