Hi,

I have a Viper alarm installed on my car. But now it is having a weird behavior, when I unlock the car doors from the remote the alarm gets activated and when I lock the doors from the remote the alarm gets deactivated. Do you guys have any idea this is happening?

Thanks for your help

I'm a little confused.  It WAS working ok, but now, on it's own, it operates in reverse?

Year, Make and model of the vehicle, and who installed the system?

Reprogramme the remotes, no change the lock wires around or insert diodes on the lock wires. Make, model and year please?

The car is a 2001 BMW 330i. its been working like that since they install it. I thought it needed to be reprogram. how do you reprogram it?

They've made a basic install mistake with that car! They went to the switch in the centre console which is sequential grounding instead of the BLACK/ white lock and blue/red unlock in the driver's door loom at the kick panel. That's the RIGHT place to go and will give you deadlock AND window/roof close.
Just lock the door with the key or original fob then turn on the alarm. Then turn off the alarm. That should bring you back into synch.

Ive seen that happen to customers also.  However if you can't correct it yourself, I'd recommend that you return to the stop that installed it and let them correct the issue.

Concur with Mark, if they don't know the correct place for the locking, get them to contact me and I'll take them through it! Bet they never gave you a trunk release from the Viper's remote either!

I took the car back to the place where I had it installed and corrected the problem. now the alarm is working the way it supposes to work.

Thanks for all your help!!
