Hello!

I'm looking to purchase an alarm system for my 2006 Toyota Sequoia. It comes with a factory keyless entry fob. Would a new alarm system play nice with these fobs, or would I need to use both alarm and factory fobs, or would the alarm fob completely replace the factory ones for locking/unlocking my doors?

Also, I am looking for a basic alarm system: good sensitivity to people messing around with the truck (breaking a small window, for example), and extremely loud horn. I do not want or need space-age features like an LCD on the fob. *MAYBE* it sending out a message to my cellphone (or pager?) whenever the alarm is kicked off would be a nice touch.

Does anyone have any recommendations? My budget is $300.

You can have the aftermarket alarm lock and unlock the doors.  There is an additional charge for that feature, but should be easily achieved given your requirements and your budget.

Because of the features the factory remote has i would want to keep it. You can use the Pursuit 9233N or the Automate AM1 alarms to do this. They will use the lock motor pulses to arm/disarm, give you full alarm features yet you get to use your factory remote. Both use the factory horn instead of a siren, but you could add a set of airhorns to either of them.
