Hey,

This is my first post and I did a search and didn't find anything close to what I need.

I have a prostar gold security system (originally purchased on ebay) and I am having trouble getting the remote function to work.

Unlike most remote start units I have seen, there are specific wires that are designated for remote start wiring.  This unit doesn't appear to have one.

There is a oil sensing/tach sensing wire, 1 (-)500ma when run output wire, 1 (-)500ma output wire, and 1 (-)500ma output wire designated for aux 1 bypass.

Keep in mind this is installed in a 1990 trans am with vats factory security.  I have figured out a way to bypass the vats without cutting any wires.

I just got the resistor value closest to the key and disconnected the connector going to the ignition switch and the factory vats code reader and

installed the resistor directly to the vats code reader. The car starts up every time.

I just can't figure out what I need to be connecting to anything.  I am thinking that I need to have another relay involved in this portion but I am not

sure.

Any help/ suggestions are greatly appreciated.

first of all. any alarm that has oil sensing is a crappy alarm. I am sure it was a good deal.

that being said, please post install/wiring info. I am sure we can help you
