Was anything unplugged? even accidently, have you double checked the ignition harness, etc?

If the car is equipped with factory security, it would not prevent anything from working. Everything would work fine and the car would start as the turning the key in the ignition disarms the alarm. The immobilizer (which is seperate from the alarm) could prevent the car from starting, but would not prevent everything else from working....the truck would do everthing but start. It's easy to tell if it is the immobilizer. When you turn the key to the on position, there would be a red security light that would flash quickly. I would make sure the ignition harness is plugged in completely. If you have a multimeter, it would be easy to tell if this harness was getting 12 volts, and if this harness was sending out voltage correctly.

i checked the harnesses and they are all hooked up but they are not getting any voltage. My batter is reading 12 volts. My door locks are working but when i turn the key i get nothing. no flashing light or anything. It was working fine until i unscrewed the steering column casing.

I would start checking fuses then. Do not do a visual check. You will need to use a multimeter. Sounds like the fuse going to the ignition has blown. Do you have a multimeter?

WHAT FUSE? You need to check every fuse in the vehicle. Once again...DO YOU HAVE A MULTIMETER? This fuse that you checked......did you do a continuity test on it? Either way....do not go by what the fusebox covers say...you need to test EVERY fuse in the vehicle.
