I had a customer come in having problems with his factory keyless. The remote does not respond unless the ignition is turned on, same for the power locks. Also when the defroster button is pressed the trunk and door open warning lights in the instrument panel come on. Is it a problem with the secu located under the dash? not sure what else? car is bone stock.

Check fuses and grounds. I actually think the two sets of problems are unrelated, I think the only common factor is grounding.
