I'm almost done hammering out the basics on this install. 97 Dodge Ram Van, automatic. Avital 5103 system.

Working on the parking lights flashing. I'm unsure if I need a relay or not. The manual makes it sound like you can go up to 10 amps draw when using the negative output.

Any insight is appreciated.

Since my lights are on a positive circuit the Avital manual says it is a 200ma output. Would seem I will need a relay?

is there a jumper you can move on the avital brain box to select positive output?

Yes there is. Already set it to positive. Just was trying to figure out how many amps it's good for and if I need a relay to power the warning lights.

Anyone know how many amps the positive output is good for on the DEI/Avital parking light circuit? Each lamp is .59 amps. That's pretty thick wire it has coming out of the unit.

10 amp, is there not a 10 amp fuse inline with the white parking light wire?

Thanks! Yes there is a fuse. The wording in the manual made me a little confused. Appreciate the help!

Just check your vehicle auto fuse for your parking light system..it shouldn't be any more than 15 or 20amps.
