I just had a Viper 5901 security plus remote start installed by a reputable car audio store. They installed the canmax400 as the bypass module for my 2007 Acura TSX (w/navi). Problem that is occuring is that the door locks will not always lock or unlock when pressing the remote. The OEM remote is also inconsistent since the install. On two occasions, the OEM alarm went off went a remote started the car. Seems like there is some kind of a conflict between the OEM alarm and the new Viper remote. I have been googling around and can't seem to find this exact issue. The Car Audio installer replaced both the canmax400 and the viper brain and this did not help. He also set the signal to double pulse, instead of single pulse and instructed by DEI tech support. DEI tech support and the Installer suggested that the OEM factory alarm may be the problem. Could it just be that the canmax400 doesn't interface well with the 07 TSX? Are there better interface modules more specific to the TSX. I am trying to avoid have the installer remove the Viper system and then taking it to Acura for them to look at the OEM system (still under warranty). I do not believe there were any lock/unlock issues before the Viper install. For clarity, the doors will unlock and lock 60-70% of the time but sometimes only the Viper Alarm will be activated or deactivated.

there is firmware issues with this vehicle. Have the installers hardwire the door locks and trunk release directly from alarm to car and not use the module for that part.

Its not the installers fault. The CANMAX Module is waiting for codes to be sent after the ignition wires are energized so the module is always in an immobilizer ready mode.

This car only needs a module to bypass transponder for remote start.

I didn't think it was the installer at all 'cause he does these things all day and has worked on two of my previous cars. I figured it is an issue with the TSX. So you are saying this is a known issue with the TSX? The installer was going to take the Viper system out and put everything back to stock so I could have Acura look at the security system... Are you saying this is is a waste of time and that I should just ask the installer to go inside the driver's door? Thanks for the response.

the canmax is not that great of a can module.

tell your installer, go into thedoors for factory alarm disarm, and door locks.

the trunk, door triggers and parking lights are all at the fuse box. This vehicle is very easy to do. You only need a transponder bypass.
