i am having problems with the keyless entry in my blazer. I hooked it up using the wires in the door on the passenger side. Then i securely mounted the unit in the door. The problem was when the radio was turned off with the car running i could still hear it faintly. Then the keyless entry module stopped working. I unhooked the harness from the module and everything was back to normal. I can't figure out why the module stopped working and all that strange stuff happened. I found a pos+ and neg- in the door that were constant and thats what i hooked into. any help would be great.

what color were the wires?
what type of keyless unit?

It was a bulldog keyless entry unit, i can't remember what model. The wires were lt blue, white, for the locks and for the power there was an orange wire that was the same guage as the lock wires about 18-22 gauge, then for a ground i used a brown wire that also came into the switch. It was a bigger guage wire like 16 gauge.

Brown is typically for parking lights on GM cars, and your door switches are illuminated at night, right? So I'm guessing that you mistakenly used the parking light wire for a ground. (It does look like a ground, if the lights are off.)
GM ground wires are typically black, and you should probably be able to find a black ground wire at the switches. If not, the sheet metal of the door will probably supply a sufficient ground.
Also, if your Bulldog unit has a parking light flash output, you should be able to run the parking lights by connecting to the brown wire that you had been using for ground.
