I don't see a place to do and intro, so i will do it here. My name is Bruce and i recently retired after 20 years of active duty Army service. I live in California and i am now a contactor that works for the Department of Defense. My current job is that I am an instructor and i teach our military how to go after the IED (Improvised Explosive Devices (roadside bombs) makers and financers. I was an Explosives Expert in the Army. Ok here is my problem. About 6 years ago i had an Auto Page car alarm professionally installed in my truck (2000 S10). It is a base model and did not come with a factory alarm, power windows and locks and keyless entry. This has happened in the past only once. I set the alarm before going to bed, wake up the next morning and i have power but it won't start. Push the little red button under the dash and it would start. That is not the case now. I push it and it won't start. i lost the manual years ago. Can anyone one, point me in the right direction to trouble shoot it. Thank you so much for any effort on this issue.

SOUNDS like there's a starter cut relay, a connection might have come adrift.
A Bosch pattern 5 pin relay..should be wired thus:-
Armed neg out from alarm (Goes to neg when alarm is activated)85
Ignition plus (live also whilst cranking) 86
Starter, wire starter side to 30
Starter, key side to 87a
Terminal 87 not used unless a Rem/Start is used.

I agree with Howie. Most likely you have a wire which became disconnected in the starter disconnect relay. This is a fairly straight forward alarm system. Sounds like the system is working but won't allow you to start the truck.
I added the RF-310 Operations and Install guides to the download section of this site to help you debug this.

Thank you so much for the help and replies. First off i a totally stupid when it comes to electricity and wiring diagrams . How do i know if i have the 5 pin or 6 pin? I know you guys can help me fix this but you might have to put it into elementary form and or put a "barney" suit" on for me . I apologize for the stupidity.

. How do i know if i have the 5 pin or 6 pin?
Ans: By the wire colors and number of wires. I would focus on the orange wire in the 6 pin connector. That should be connected to your starter kill relay. I would begin by looking for a discoonnected wire on one of the wires going to the relay. ------------- Lectric Guy

There are 2 relays for starter cut shown on the install manual, follow the orange and yellow from the alarm.
Incidentally, there are two diagrammes showing starter - cut relays, the second is correct.

I know that this may be hard for you guys to answer, but how can i identify the relays and the alarm?? The only thing I can ID is the horn. is there an alarm control module or something under the dash or under the hood? Again thank you so much for the effort and the replies, you don't know how much i appreciate it. Like I said, i didn't install it. I took it to an audio store to have it professionally installed about 6 years ago after my first tour in Iraq and that was in Missouri and i am nowback i cali. It has to be a loose wire or something. My S10 is an off road prerunner and i bounce it around the dezert, and yes it has been airborne but it hasn't been over a week since i took it to the dezert.. I have tomorrow off, so I think I will take my dash apart and also check out the wires going to the starter. Again, thank you.

It will be under the dash, probably driver side, black plastic box about 1 x 3x 5". There are loads of adverts from relay manufacturers in the relay section, or Google Bosch relays.
To be honest from the questions you're asking I would seriously advise taking your vehicle to a pro.

I just want to say thanks for all the help. Took the dash a part yesterday and there was a blown in line fuse. Replaced it, the alarm works like a champ and ma baby starts. Thanks you guys. I am definitely staying on this website.

Any indication as to why the fuse popped...Might be worthwhile to check ignition harness connections...BTW...How were the connections from the alarm to the car attached(soldered...t-taps...etc)..?Would suck to try and do a repair at night and be away from home should another problem arise...! ------------- M.E.C.P & First-Class

No i don't know! I looked at the ignition harness and it looked good. the connections are attached by the clear plastic twist connections. Thank you so much for the concern

If those twist connections are what I think they are, remove, throw them away and solder.
