Hey guys, I'm currently installing a 545T Headlight module in my 06 Charger. I have it all wired up, except it calls for an Ignition input. I tested the Pink/White wire at the ignition harness and it shows 12v when the key is in the run position, but it shows 5v at rest. Is this going to give me problems with the 545T unit? Thanks in advance for your help.

Ok, heres an update. I ended up just hooking up that ignition wire since it is what I used for the remote starter with no problems. Now when it is dark, the 545T only turns on my parking lights and it gave me a check engine light. I have the relay for the headlights hooked up as follows:

85: 545T Red wire (Power for relay)
86: 545T Green Wire (Trigger for headlight relay)
30: Car side of WHITE/ Brown light switch wire
87: Ground through 1/2 watt 1.2k ohm resistor
87a: Switch side of WHITE/ Brown light switch wire

Any suggestions as to what I've done wrong?

Wow, I'm surprised nobody has chimed in yet. Here is something I have noticed, I had my remote starter installed by Circuit City. They tapped the WHITE/ Brown wire with a T-Tap. It is my understanding that parking light flash should be done through relay isolation similar to my headlight setup. Is it possible that this direct connection is affecting my headlight setup? I dont see how it would, just because I cut the WHITE/ brown wire for the 545T relay between the T-Tap and the car side of the switch. The parking light flash for the remote starter does work, its just strange. It flashes the corner light, then the inside parking light in an alternating fashion on each headlamp. Any ideas guys?

I would just find a wire at the fusebox that turns on with the key. The radio accessory wire would be fine if you don't mind your module activating when in accessory as well as ignition. The ignition is not the only wire that goes hot with the key. Just my thoughts.

Thanks Brent, I actually took ignition off the cigarette lighter in the dash. Thanks though. Now I am just trying to figure out why a 1.2k ohm resistor isn't activating the headlights. I tried measuring resistance across pins 1 and 5 on the switch, but that didn't work either. I am stumped. I hope somebody chimes in here, I know I did something stupid and will feel like an idiot once it's resolved.

are you sure you're using the correct resistor? If you measure the resistance between ground and 87a: Switch side of WHITE/ Brown light switch wire, does it read 1.2k?

I didn't do it. *nodnod*

BTW, unless you know specifically what that wire controls, you may want to see if it gives you a different resistance in different positions (parking lights only vs. headlights)
