05 avalon viper 5902 problems

Ok, I tried to get Best Buy to install the 5902 but they told me they couldn't touch the airbag under the steering wheel, so it looks like I'm doing this myself.

I got into it a little today and had some concerns, and just wanted some clarification.

The ignition harness has 3 much bigger wires than the others, like 3 were 12-14 gauge while the others were 18-22 gauge. All the colors matched up like the wiring information said but I have never seen the wires in an ignition harness that small, so I was worried I had the wrong connection.

What about the domelight supervision?

On the ignition harness, I need to tie the two starter wires into the single starter wire on the RS?

I am using the CANMAX 400 and it will control the auto lights shutting off after the car shuts down, but the guide just says cut the wire and splice each of the two wires to corresponding ends. It never says what wire is the auto light wire. Any ideas?

I have hooked up the door triggers (Isolated with diodes) and they are working fine, however the actual door locks do not lock or unlock. I have the three pin plug with the green and blue wires hooked into the Red and White wire in the driver kick panel as was stated in the wiring information from DEI. I haven't yet hooked up any of the starter wires; does this have to be hooked up for door locks to work? Trunk pop works fine.

I can't get the parking lights to work either, I tried both the blue and light blue wires in the light switch harness, but neither worked.

The DEI info also says just attach the two starter wires to the Viper single starter wire...will this cause problems?

Did you test those wires?

Don't tie in both starter wires to the same wire from the starter, use a relay to trigger the second wire!

Yes, I have tested both wires at the light switch and neither ones have voltage when the switch is on for the parking lights. Does it ground it out when the switch is turned on??

How would I wire up the relay for the extra starter wire? I am using the starter kill, so if I cut the starter wires, how would I allow that to be on both sides with a relay involved?

85 - neg start output from unit
86 - constant 12v
87 - constant 12v
30 - second start wire on car.

The relay post that Ted just sent you, supply the 2 constants via a 30amp fuse.

Dome light if they wire them like European Toyotas the dome light has a delay which shuts down immediately the doors are locked. If so your dome light will have 3 wires, a constant 12volt, a constant ground and a wire (pink?) which goes to ground on opening the doors. That will function as all door trigger and dome supervision which anyway isn't needed if unlocking the doors before opening switches on the dome light.
Most late Toyotas, you can use a wire usually at the Haz switch, if you only have 3 or 4 wires at this switch try grounding through a DMM, grounding one (GREEN / WHITE?) will bring on the lights for the time it's grounded. Use the jumper to set the alarms white wire to neg output.
NEVER had any problems with Toyota locks but you might have to go into the door to door on this model, there's a DEI tech tip on this, search this site.
