 Can any one help please I have just bought a c class coupe and the central locking dosent work from outside the switch on the dash works and the doors also lock when start to move off but the remote key dosent work bin told by merc garage needs a new rear window and a reciever amplifier at a cost of around £800 i would like to put a cheap remote locking kit on the car as a stop gap but cannot find the wires to do it can anyone please help

 Check your fuses. The factory alarm siren gets water logged, this takes down the fuse that controls the central locking and the radio amplifier.
Basicly you have to ascertain which of the 2 wires coming from that fuse, I think RED / yellow has to be cut, the fuse replaced and job done.

 thanks howie i will give it a go hhad the car to merc and aon the com there its says that the siren is faulty so i must try to fix it but it didnt show the blown fuse if it checks it any way thanks i will try it and let you know ,i was going to put a no genuien locking kit on it but it is can bus
