My wife just bought a 2002 Honda CR-V EX with a factory alarm. I would like to install a aftermarket remote car starter and I think that the best thing to do is do an Alarm/car starter. I can't find any information on a disarm wire for the factory alarm? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

According to Omega's site, it will arm with lock (WHITE/ Blue) and disarm with unlock (WHITE/ Green).

ok ,thanks. In regards to arming and disarming. I am assuming that with unlock/disarm on the aftermarket system this will disarm the factory system. But with lock/arm should both systems will be armed? Should I hook up the disarm wire to the aftermarket and not touch the arm wire?

Or am I completely off base on this and I don't have to do anything extra and just hook up the aftermarket alarm/remote car starter and everything will work out just fine?

Thanks again for any help you guys can give,

Joel

What remote starter and bypass are you using? Most bypasses will do the OEM alarm for you.

I would recommend the ADS Interface Module.  You wont need to "Lose A Key" with a "Key In The Box" type bypass.  Although they work perfect fine, the ADS modules are VERY reliable and VERY easy to use.  ADS "TB" or ALCA Multi module.

I've never seen a pre-2006 with a factory alarm. Have you tested and verified that it has a factory-installed alarm?

No alarm will make it easy. I figured it had an alarm because of the light on the dash "Green key", the red light on the dash and the fact that it locks the doors after a little while if you don't do anything after you unlock it.

Still no alarm, then we are good?

To test for an alarm:   Roll down the drivers window.  Close all doors.  Press the lock button on the factory remote.  Wait 2 minutes.  Reach thru window and open door with inside handle release.  Listen for horn....  posted_image

On the 2007+ CR-V's the EX has it . The LX doesn't.

The green key light is for the immobilizer, the red light is for the coded radio, and it relocks if a door isn't open just like all Hondas do...

Oh bloody do it yourselfers! (This weeks's rant)
The green light is to tell you the state of the factory transponder.
Open a window, lock the car with the key or factory fob, wait 1 minute then try to open a door, if you can open the door with no horn or siren sounding, then you have no alarm.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

On Honda's and acura's there is usually a red led that immediately lights up as soon as you lock the doors. BTW, it will only light up if all the doors are closed and the hood and trunk are closed. It will flash slow and then flash at steady pace. Light is usually on the cluster area or on the door.
