Ok so check this out. I have a 556u under the dash. Its wired to come on with ignition. (my status output harness is fudged)So pats has been fully bypassed.

There is a pats key in the 556u. RS works perfect. Hardware store doesnt have any Ford service keys currently. But I can get ahold to a blank pats key. I was wondering if I choose not to program the pats key would the transponder pickup the pellet in the key and send the system into tamper mode. Or would I have to remove the pats pellet from the key?

I think it would see two keys, one of them valid and the other invalid.  Could cause problems.  A plain blank is the way to go.

The Taurus needs 2 ignitions outputs but does your remote start have an Ignition 3 (-) output besides the non-working  (-) Status Output?  You could use that to control the 556U.  Then you could gets the PATS working properly again and if you had two working keys, you could buy the transponder key and program that for the 556U.  Just a thought.....

I found the service keys on ebay :)

See the thing is...the harness that includes the status output and IGN 3 200ma output is screwed up. They brain is fully functional...I just need another status output harness.
