Glad to find this forum.

I have a 2001 Galant. The trunk of my car is from a 2002. Misu did not install trunk popper on Galant until 2002. The OEM popper is there but I have no idea how to wire it up to use my alarm to pop it. Can some one please help me?

Car: 2001 Mitsubishi Galant

Alarm: Autocommand OEM Series 28264TN

You will need a relay.  SPST or SPDT, whatever you can get.  Mount the trunk pop solenoid, Connect a 10 Ga. fuse holder to the positive terminal of the car's battery.  Connect a 10 Ga. wire to that and run to the relay.  Connect it to terminals 30 and 86 of the relay.  Connect the alarm negative output to terminal 85 of the relay.  Connect the Solenoid's power wire to terminal 87 of the relay.  Put a 10 amp fuse in the fuse holder and enjoy.

And as an addendum, if you are going to use a momentary switch, ground on one side, other side to 85 of above relay.
Also to protect your rem/s place a 1N4004 diode in line on both the wires going to terminal 85, bands away from the relay.
All parts assuming you're in the US from Radio Shack.

As an added feature i install a button (if there's room) to the back where it's easily accesible when you want to acces the trunk and your're outside the car, i connect one of the terminals to the unlock signal of a five wire actuator and the other termianl to the trigger of the relay, that way it only works if you vehicle is unlocked, and makes life extremely convenient. Normally i place it around where the i.d plates go, it;s a little more complicated but me personally, i find it well worth it!

Thank you. I followed everything you wrote & it didn't work. Then I realized that I didn't ground the switch. Felt pretty dumb. Everything works just fine now.

I did not read anything about a switch.

Of course he didn't but we like to go the little extra, especially when they ask nicely.
