Hello and thanks in advance.
I have the 5902 on a mustang 2006. I need to use the control button to program the viper to recognize that my doors, trunk, and hood are normally closed circuits. It says to open a door, turn ignition on then off, then press and hold control button until I hear a chirp. The problem is, I get no chirps. I've tried numerous combos of opening and closing the doors, but for some reason, I can't get into the program mode. I was able to do it once however, but I don't know if I screwed anything up when I tried to program it then. I could probably move on if I can reset the whole unit altogether. I am having a master installer come friday to help, maybe he can bring a bitwriter, IDK. Thanks.

Do yo have the door wire connected? The unit must see ground on the green wire or 12 volts on the purple to program the unit!

Well, I was able to get into the program mode for sure, more than once. I fear that one time during programming it, I screwed it up.

And the door wire is connected. It's just circuited for normally closed.

I had this same problem with my 5701, it just would not go into programming mode. The bitwriter will work provided it has the correct chips in it. See my thread "viper 5701 can't program" further down the page.

Well if you were able to " screw up the programming" without a bitwriter then the valet button is supposed to work! Although a bitwriter would make things easier!

The valet mode is the only thing I can get it to do.

So all four wires to one, and the other four to the other?
