Hi

I try to install an alarm system Stellar STRS9960 on a 2005 Ford F350 Diesel and I got everything to work except the remote start.

I install all the wires according to the diagram and I use the relay. Only thing that I'm not sure is the tach wire. It suppose to be on a 5 pin harness behind the break release but all I have with 5 wires is the brek switch and it has a solid green wire.

There is also a few lose wires that has one gree with white and one orange I think that say RPM on it but is not on a harness. They are just terminated. I believe is for the optional break  controller box.

So without the tach wire I got to the point that if the system is arm and I try to start the engine the allarm will sound and I will receive a message on the remote saying that the car was started.

Not sure about this but if you try to start the car when the alarm is on don't the starter suppose to be disable until  you disarm.

Main problem is that when I press button 4 on the remote to start the car nothing happen.

What could be wrong? I don't think the tach wire will stop the car to start. I can't even hear the relay clicking.

when i look at the install manual it said to hook your starter wire to the ing side looks like its wrong and u should hook it up to the starter side? maybe someone else can verify this ...

for your tach wire test out the wires with a MM and you should find it instead of guessing

heres the manual also for someone else to look at

So the YELLOW /GREEN coming from the alarm has to be hookup to the 87a on the relay and 30 to the starter side?

To test it does it need the tach wire to be hookup?

Also do you know if this model has a key with chip and if I need a bypass?

yes the YELLOW /GREEN from the alarm should be hook up to the 87a ,
you trunk dont have a bypass should it should be easy...another note stellar remote start dont need tach wire to crank and start . but u need it in order to sense that the car started and ran. i have had a stellar alarm install in my car for 6 months and it was crappy it keep starting when the car still on ...

Ok. I did that and but I realized that nbefore I was not pressing button 4 for 3 seconds. So I did it now and the bord ligh up like when you turn ignition on but the engine never start.

I switch the wires the way it show on the manufacture schematics and I got the same results.

then I change the fom light fuse that was blow  and not sure if that has something to do with but after that I could not get the ignition to turn on from the remote. All I get is 3 bip when I press button 4.

I realized that I pull the harness off so I can connect the wires and forgot to put it back so that could be the cause why the engine did not start but now I can't get the ignition to turn on anymore with teh harness on or off.

Any idea what 3 bip mean? I unplug from the power to reset but did not make any change.

I find out why after I change the dom ligh fuse it stop working.

After I change the fuse the alarm will get the 12v from the dom light wire so it knows the door are open.

I have to wait until the light go off or take the fuse off for testing.

Anyway now both way work to get the ignition going but the starter does not turn

So now it turn the igniation on for 2 sec then off for a sec then on and the power stay on on the board but the starter does not turn.

I mesure between 30 and 87a and I get 000 so it's a nul or short,

I toght it suppose to send 12 v for 1 sec to turn the starter.

Also I do not understand the ACC part. when I turn the key one turn I get nothing on second turn is the  ignition on then 3th turn is crank and 4th turn is accesories.

Do I have to connect the blue wire to the ACC that is on the 4th turn or to ign 2?

That thing drive me crazy.

This is the color code for my car:

Starter Positive Wire (+): Dark Green
Starter Positive Wire Location: Ignition Switch Harness

Ignition Positive Wire (+): RED / Light Green
Ignition Positive Wire Location: Ignition Switch Harness

Second Ignition Positive Wire (+): RED / Black
Second Ignition Positive Wire Location: Ignition Switch Harness

Accessory Positive Wire (+): Gray / YELLOW
Accessory Positive Wire Location: Ignition Switch Harness

Second Accessory Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue/Light Green
Second Accessory Positive Wire Location: Ignition Switch Harness

So I hookup C1-1 to Second Ignition Positive Wire (+): RED / Black and pin 86 on the relay
C1-2 to Pin 30 on the relay and to the solid green of the starter on the ignition side ( I also try the other way around)
C1-3 to      Ignition Positive Wire (+): RED / Light Green
Pin 87A to the solid green from the starter on the starter side ( I try also the way you sugest)
C3-0 to pin 85 on the relay.

According to the schmatics I have 2 ignitions. Do I have to connect C3-3 to Red and black

So the way I have it now what happen is when I press the start button the ignition turn on then off for a second then looks like it receive the signal to start the starter but for some reason this will turn the dom light on and triger the alarm.

try to start the key with ur start kill in place and see if it starts if it doesnt try to rewire your starter kill instead... to this one

30 to starter wire key side
86 ignition
85 ground when armed "should be yellow in c3"
87a starter wire yello/green and starter wire from starter side

the acc should be the first turn and show 12volt witha MM

doenst look like the alarm has a Second Ignition output correct me if i'm wrong
