Hey guys,

I'm wanting to mount my 5902 antenna on one of the non-opening rear windows on my hatchback, but the fact the LED is built into the antenna kinda makes this moot. I'm wondering if anyone knows the pinout for the antenna port? I want to see if I can splice that bundle so I can run an external LED since there doesn't seem to be a seperate LED port. Looked around and couldn't find any info, hopefully you guys can help. Thanks!

-Nigel

cut the pink wire from the antenna wire and splice into the red antenna wire to the led!

Thanks for the reply.

Will the LED retain its blinking feature? Or will this merely power it, requiring me to use a separate pulse circuit? Thanks again!

It will perform exactly as the LED in the antenna.

By splicing into the pink wire- will this be a 12 volt or a 2 volt wire?

I realize this thread is a bit older but the topic is related to my question so I thought I'd try go get an answer here first rather than starting a new thread.

I mounted the 5902's control center (LED/valet/antenna) module just above the rear view mirror on the windshield but I'd like to add a second LED for more visibility.

I've done some testing and it looks like the Pink (-) and Red (+) wires on the 6 wire harness going to the control center are the ones I need to use as suggested above.

Can I run this second LED in parallel with the control center LED? The DEI LED I would be adding draws 170mA and the control center one should draw the same or less as it is physically half the size. Does anyone know what the max current load on the LED output is?

I've done some searching and found suggestions that a second LED on a DEI alarm can be wired in parallel but any more than that and you need to wire them in series up to a maximum of 5 LEDs. Can anyone confirm the proper way to add this second LED? Is parallel okay?
Thanks
