python 991, 09 silverado

Greetings and thanks in advance for any assistance.

2009 Silverado 2 door, automatic transmission. Python 991 with remote start, and unknown door lock motors.

I have a bone stock 09 Silverado with no power locks. I had a place install lock motors and a 'good alarm with remote start'.

My criteria besides the remote start was to be able to defeat the chirp on lock and unlock, as well as be able to lock the doors once I get in. It was explained that I would be able to use the remote to lock the doors once inside and lock/unlock chirp could be turned off.

Unfortunately I can't do either. I can change the way it arms but the change is not permanent. I can go through the remotes slow to respond menu commands every time but that is a bit of a hassle.

And I cannot lock the doors once I am inside with the engine running. Since there is an ignition defeat and trigger I can't start it once locked but I haven't tried to lock and then start the truck yet, just to see what happens. If it were a car I'd have no problems just reaching over and locking the passenger door but since it is a truck, it's wide enough that I have to unbuckle the seat belt and slide over to get to it.

Before I go back to these folks for help, I'd like to know if what I have is even capable of what I wanted.

Can what I have be setup to not chirp on lock and unlock but still be fully active when armed? And can it be setup to lock the doors once inside?

Chirp elimination (Silent arm).
Autolock/unlock.

Thanks for the response. Before I call and ask if they can help, I want to make sure that at least my words make sense (since I am a 'no nothing' with car alarms). Member dasbogie IM'ed me and said it can be done with a bitwriter in about 5 minutes. These guys at the shop seemed to want to point me to the remote for programming.

So, I call and ask them if they can program the brain with a bitwriter to set silent arm/disarm and autolock/unlock with a bitwriter?

I assume autolock/unlock would be a transmission trigger, out of park and lock, back into park unlock?

Both can programme, bitwriter is faster but takes more time to get to Python's brain and connect! 6 of one etc.
No to your last question, auto lock is triggered by ignition provided no doors are open and takes place within 4 secs. of turning on ignition.
I'm a bit worried about the quality of the original install because ignition auto lock is a default setting.
Frankly if it was correctly wired I could manually programme it in about 10 seconds.

Understood on the autolock feature. I RTFM'ed the install manual and looking at the feature menus I see that default is off, "No Ign-locking". My assumption at this point is they left everything default with their assumption that what I wanted is a remote feature.

Looks like what I want is "Off w/Warn chirps On" in the confirmation chirps menu and "Lock & Unlock" in the Ign-controlled locks menu.

I cannot see the brain at all, they did say it was up in the dash pretty good..
