The DEI PKALL will probably be the easiest to obtain, connect and program to your car.

HI
in reference to wiring there are two ignition wires how these two wires can be connected to remote starter ( prostart CT-3310 ).Thanks

Couldn't find a CT-3310 install guide.  Only found a CT-3371 guide, hopefully they are similar.

Looks like the unit has a heavy gauge Green wire ( fifth relay ) on the 6 pin Main Ignition Harness that is jumper selectable for IGN2, ACC2 or Start2.  Set the jumper to Ignition 2 and connect the Green wire to the cars second ignition circuit.

HI Kreg357
Thanks for the reply and you are right. I wonder if you can tell me the purpose of it and what the second ignition do.

Not sure on the RAV4.  It varies a lot.  As you noticed, some cars only have one "ignition" wire and some can have three.  I'm sure the design engineers had a purpose for dividing it up like that.  With a full wiring schematic you could see which circuits were controlled by each ignition wire.

Usually on Toyotas Ign 1 supplies the electrics for starting (live whilst cranking), and Ign 2 supplies the gauges, heating etc.

On my side usually toyotas have two ignitions that are both live whilst cranking and two starters as well.

HI EVERYONE
In regards the wiring for RAV4 2003 I am slightly confused. The 12v constant wire is white&BLACK/ red. Is this two wires or only one wire and in addition I have seen as white & RED / black.
Thanks for the clarification.

This is where your Digital Multi Meter comes in handy.  All of those wire listings are only guides.  All wires should be verified before making any connections.  I believe you will find two wires at the ignition switch harness, one White and the other BLACK/ Red that test as +12 volts constant.

HI EVERYONE
I think the easiest approach to tach wire is the data link just below the fuse box on rav4 2003. The tach signal is the pin#9 which is the bottom row, pin#9 is most left hand side of the connector and to test it is to connect ac voltmeter with black to ground and red to pin#9.
Am I right?. What are the alternatives. Thanks a lot

Correct, black wire at pin 9 according to Directwire, test as you've stated with your DMM set to ACV, should get 2-4VAC at idle increasing to about 5 on revving up.
N.B. also on some Toyota/Lexus, black wire with silver dots at OBD ll socket if this is easier to get at. Or is you're data link my OBD ll?

HI Howie

what is the difference between wire with dots and stripe. I am not clear about it for example say black wire with red stripe colour  is marked as BLACK/ red now what happens if black wire with red dots.

Thanks a lot  Mike

It should be obvious, stripe is the second colour running all the way along, dots are at intervals. The BLACK/ red you mentioned (which just happens to be another tach location in the engine bay on certain Toyotas) means black primary or major colour, red secondary.
If you look down at the wire side of your OBD ll or data connection, it's over to the right, pin 9, i.e. top right same position and colour as late BMWs, unfortunately out of those 16 pins, only 4 or 5 are industry mandated, CAN hi lo etc. The rest are up to individual manufacturers.

HI EVERYONE
Regarding tach signal on RAV4 pin#9, I get 7.8 ac volts even when gas pedal pushed for higher rev but no considerable voltage change.
It is supposed to be between 1 to 3v ac. I wonder anybody have any idea.
Thanks a lot Mike

Run your tach lead to that wire without cutting short or soldering, finish installation and see if you can successfully programme tach, if so, cut to length and solder etc.
