I have a problem with a remote start that i installed on an odyssey 2003. I am trying to keep the original keyless entry remote but once the car is running the factory remote control does not work at all. any help would be really apreciated.

thanks a lot.

unfortunatly thats how the hondas are. once started it doesnt allow for keyless to work.

you might concider getting a rs with keyless.

Only on some honda vehicles, you can break the continuity to the keyless module and it will work when its started

I contacted the tech support at autopage and they sugested me to put a relay in line with the keyless entry module ignition wire, but they did not know any wiring colors or locations. I really would like to keep the original remote control because i like to us it to operate the sliding rear doors.

thanks for any suggestions

I have no idea if this will allow you to keep the remotes operational but....

The Keyless entry mod is behind the dash to the right of the steering column.  My diagram shows a blue wire with a white trace, pin 15, as the ign sense for the module.  Perhaps breaking this contact during start will allow you to keep those honda remotes going.

I did find the keyless entry module on the rigth side of the glove box and also found a yellow wire that shows when the ignition is on, I interupted this with a relay when the rs is on and this took care of the problem. now i can still use the original remote and have all the functions on it.

Thanks for all your help.
