Hey,

Got a problem.  I just installed a new alarm in my Sunfire (2002).  Everything works great except that the lights don't flash when I arm and disarm the alarm.  I found a brown wire in the drivers kick panel that is shown as being the wire for the parking light.  This wire is a (+) output.

I hooked my alarm wire to that wire.  My alarm is a (+) output,  and happens to be a brown wire too.  I thought this would be it.  You know the positive output (which is fused) from the alarm goes into the wire for the parking lights,  and boom,  they would flash.  But they don't.

I'm done programming the alarm and it's in the normal operating phase. Because I read a few posts about the lights not flashing until after it was programmed.

Can someone help me out here as to how to get my lights to flash when I arm and disarm? Am I missing something?  I didn't think I would need a relay for something like this,  but do I?  And if you own a Cavalier or Sunfire (or done installs on them) how did you do it?

THANKS FOR THE HELP!

Parking light wire is a GREEN / WHITE wire located top of fuse box in a 12-pin plug (+). Try that out and see if it works.

Thanks,  I'll try that.  I can tell you that the brown wire in the drivers side kick panel is attached to the heat and A/C unit.  I was sitting in my car and thought I would arm the system just to see if I can tell anything.  When I hit the button to arm the fan in the heat/AC turned on and off,  and with the disarm as well.  So I'm hoping the wire you tell me is the right one.

If it is,  man you are awesome.

B
