got a 98 yukon and were installing a viper 5901 using a xk09 bypass module, the whole system works like it should except the truck will not stay running, it does the typical start up and die. we have checked and rechecked everything on the wiring and went by the current online guide for the module wiring, the truck starts fine with the key just not remote, we even tried with the key near the ignition in case it had a chip.

Any suggestions????

Make sure TACH wire is wired correctly

TACH      WHITE      @ ECM

Tach LEARNING
Turn on the car with key.
Then press and hold the VALET button.
The ALARM light will stay ON, Tach has been learned.

Shut down car, attempt remote start.

we cant even get it to learn the tach, its connected to the white wire on the black ecm plug.

it wants to start, grinds the starter on the first try like if you were to leave the key on for to long, shuts down, second try it wants to start but acts like it shuts the brain off, you can hear various relays clicking when it shuts off.

we been on this thing for 2 days were goin bald from pullin our hair out lol

The XK09 with the PLXR V3.03 firmware should be connected to the Yukon following the Install #6 instructions.  Did you set the XK09 bypass for 2 blinks ( PassLock II ) ?  Did the XK09 program to the Yukon as per the guide?

The are two ignition wires:  Pink is ING1 and White is ING2.  The Flex relay should be set for ING2 and connected to the White wire.

Did you verify the Tach wire with a Digital Multi-Meter?  Should read between 1 and 6 volts AC.

If it has not learned the tach it will grind the starter. Its exactly what is going on here.
Test your WHITE wire as stated above.
I still think is the tach not learning.
Try this:
Under programming MENU 3
Setting #2
Set to option 2.
Check your install manual or download it if u don't have it.

The setting above uses the VOLTAGE sensing to do the remote start.
Disconnect the TACH wire.
