Subject: viper 5901 in sequoia 06 with 508d

I've installed the viper 5901 in my sequoia 06 last week. Whenever, I tried to do a remote start with armed system, then the 508D sensor caused the siren to go off immediately and the car will not start. I removed the 508D and it started without any problem. The 508D was wired as follows:
508D (Green) -- Connected to the 508D Blue wire below.
508D (Blue) -- H1/7 (Blue) Instant Trigger Input (Cathode of 1N4001 toward sensor).
508D (Red) -- Constant 12V+.
508D (Black) -- H1/12 (Orange) Ground when armed output.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There should be a dedicated (white)socket on the 5901 for the 508 which will eliminate this problem.
You might be able to programme it to be inoperative during the R/S process.
Failing the above, any SPCO relay,
Orange from alarm to 87a.
Status (GWR) wire from 5901 to 85*
Black from 508d to 30
Constant 12v+ 3 amp fused to 86 and 87
That will disconnect the 508d whilst remote start is in progress.
*If the status wire is used for other functions, e.g. triggering an immobiliser by-pass then remember to put a 1N4004 diode on each branch, bands towards 5901.

Thanks Howie. I was thinking about doing that as the last option.

I had the 506T on this mux port and the plug for 508D does not fit this port.

Howie, would it work if I leave 87 not connected so during the remote start process, the 508D ground wire (Black) does not connect to anything?

Yes of course. I was wrong, 87 is not connected! Apologies.

Added the relay and rewire the 508D to use the extra blue wire from 506T connectors and that worked.
