Was looking through the posts here to see if anyone had this combination installed but have not found a match. Was wondering now if I even need the DLPKGM module with the 5701. It appears from the information on that module that the only function it will perform is the remote start but nothing else. If so, that is fine since that is all I really need except that I'd need to carry around 2 key fobs. The one for 5701 and the other being the original to open and lock doors. Does anyone know if I have this connected to the 5701 that I can utilize the D2D capability of the DLPKGM and the interfaces on the 5701 to perhaps control the door locks, etc.? Perhaps I wouldn't need 2 then if I want to connect up door locks. In the 5701 documentation it mentions that it has jumper settings for internal and external D2D module. Am I correct in assuming that if I use the DLPKGM that I would set the jumpers to the external setting?

It looks fairly easy to wire this up for remote start only using the D2D device. On an earlier post someone mentioned something about ensuring that the 2nd ignition wire be connected up or there would be probable transmission damage. I don't see but only a single ignition wire being needed for the wiring of the DLPKGM in the wiring diagram for my vehicle. It just shows 2. The one going to ignition and the other to data OBD2. Then just a connector between the module and the 5701. Would that 2nd ignition wire need to come out from the 5701 which has a 2nd ignition interface?
Any information appreciated.

Regards

The DLPKGM is only used to bypass the PassLock II immobilizer on your Surburban.  It is used in conjunction with the Viper 5701 to remote start the vehicle.  The DLPKGM install guide only shows you that part of the wiring.

The Viper must also be connected to the Suburban.  The Viper can be wired to do the door locks.  Your Surburban has (+) Door Locks.  The Viper install guide should explain all of this.  There is a Viper install guide in the Downloads section of this site.

Here is a link to Bulldog Security.  https://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp  They list your Suburban and point out the Ignition 2 wire ( White ) that needs to be connected to the Viper.

The wiring guides are only a guide and all wires should be checked & verified with a Digital Multi Meter.
