Hi, my car's battery is almost dead. The interior dome light barely light up. I had a code alarm installed 545 for the remote start and I think the alarm itself is a 435. Now the remote doesn't unlock the doors. When I entered using the key the alarm went off, but since it battery is nearly dead it was barely audible. For those you you with land lines it kind of sounds like the telephone when you leave it off the hook for a while but the volume is lower.

The override button doesn't work. I put the key in ignition turned it to the on position then pushed the button. The alarm remained on. I then tried the default code 11. Still didn't work. I had to disconnect the batter to turn the alarm off.

Unless the alarm is disengaged the car won't start. So any ideas what to do? I will get a friend to try and jump start the car, but need to disable the battery first.

Summary: Nearly dead battery, override doesn't turn alarm off. Question is how to disable the alarm so I can jump start the car

Do you have the key turned to the run position when you press the bypass?

Try what Mr. I says or try finding the main fuse for the alarm, probably 5amps, remove it then charge or if original replace car battery.
replace fuse, everything should now work.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Many overrides won't work when your battery is dead. Go ahead and jump the car like normal and once the jumper cables are hooked up and you have decent voltage the remote should disarm the alarm and it should start up.

Doing it this way you won't even have to mess with the bypass.
