Hey,
I installed Viper alarms professionally for a number years, but haven't done one for a couple of years and I am having a tough time figuring out which wires to use of the Remote Start (H3) 10 pin connector and which to connect them to in the ingnition harness.
Can you tell me if I need to wire this differntly or if I don't need to use all of the wires?
H3/1 = Ignition 1
H3/2 = Constant 12 V
H3/3 = Accessory
H3/4 = Starter Car Side
H3/5 = Starter Key Side
H3/6 = Constant 12 V
H3/7 = (Ignition 2 or Accessory 2) not sure
H3/8 = N/A
H3/9 = Constant 12 V or N/A
This Flex Relay is new since the last time I installed Viper.
Thank you!
It appears your truck has 2 Ignition wires ( possibly 3, depending on features ) and 2 Accessory wires. The Viper comes with the flex relay H3/7 output defaulted as Ignition 2, so use that for the trucks ING2 wire. As you listed, H3/2 goes to +12v constant and supplies power for H3/7 and H3/8 is not used.
You can use the Orange wire, (-) 200mA Accessory Output, at pin 2 on the Remote Start Aux Output 5 pin connector to control an additional relay for Accessory 2.
There is a Viper 5701 Install Manual in the Downloads section for more info.

Soldering is fun!
Flex means it is flexible, it can be used as either an Ignition or an accessory output. Some vehicles require a second ignition and others require a second acc wire to be powered. This relay can be used as either of these.
Thanks guys, yes, I do have two ign wires and two acc wires, so it sounds like I can get by without tapping into the 2nd acc wire.
New questions:
1. I have been having issues with the alarm being set off after anywhere between 20 minutes and 35 minutes after I arm the alarm, for no appearant reason. This is a bit odd, and I am not sure why this happens after everytime I arm the alarm. I haven't timed it to know exactly how long it takes after arming it before it is set off.
2. The vehicle remoted started fine the first few times I attempted the remote start, then radomely didn't for a couple of tries, did again one or twice more, now won't after 6 or 7 attempts. The vehicle does have a manual transmission. I have put the alarm in manual transmission mode. Then I used to diagnostic test to learn that the manual transmission mode is enabled, but not initialized, so I proceed with the initialization process. I get to step 10, where I am to arm the alarm and the vehicle is supposed to shut off, but the vehicle does not shut off and thus I am unable to fully complete the initialization process.
Any recommendations?
Thank you
