Hi, I'm trying to add keyless entry to my 84 Ferrari 308. I've done this before to a couple other cars, but never had this much trouble.  tried for hours and searched the web for hours as well.

I have a new Avital 2101 system and aftermarket 2 wire door lock actuators.  I'm not sure if I need to use aftermarket relays or not.  I have two, and have tried them, but can't get it to work either with or without them.  here's the wires which have anything to do with door locks that I'm not sure of:

grn/blk (common lock), blu/blk (common unlock), violet (unlock normally open), violet/blk (lock normally open), wht/blk (lock normally closed)

If I hook the grn and blu to the door actuator, with voilet/blk and voilet to 12v, and wht/blk to ground, I can get the actuators to unlock only.  If I hook up the 2 additional relays per the the12v.com help diagram, I can also get unlock only to work.  never lock.  the lock works fine if wired straight to 12v.

Do I need relays?  What wires do I have to connect to what?  I cannot find the 1041 document online which supposedly tells how to do this for installers.

Thanks,

Jason Young

You're missing a connection, it's a BROWN / black i believe, this goes to ground as well the rest remains as is.

Actually, Ferraris of that vintage used Sempal motors as OEM equipment.
