I have a base model 2010 Mazda 3i Sport that I bought a Clifford 330.3x alarm for.
This car has no factory alarm and no factory keyless entry. It does have the immobilzer 'chipped' key (not a smart key or push button start).
No remote start being done.
Do I need any kind of bypass kit for the install? Or can the alarm connect directly to the car?

Directly to the vehicle. No module necessary.

Although the car is perfectly safe as is, only difference the system would make is the keyless entry part of things.

Thanks Guys! I was pretty sure I don't need any express kit.
No power locks. The only thing that the 3i Sport is missing; but the 2011's will come with them standard.
I had already read that aftermarket actuators don't fit anywhere, so I am only doing the factory actuator and switch to the drivers door.
This is my commuter car, and I won't really need power locks everywhere, but I can add them later on.

I have a 201 Mazda 3 S with keyless entry. I also have two Mazda non-fob keys with micro chips that work with the car. I'm looking at the Clifford 330.3x and the Viper 5901. I also do not plan to use remote start.
First, will I require a bypass kit if I have the keyless entry?
Second, is there a difference between the Clifford and Viper other than branding and cost?
And caryb, how do you like the 330.3x in your Mazda. Any problems with it? ------------- Matthew Lockard

To the last poster, you only need a by-pass when installing a remote start. No difference the only different (and a better product) Cliffords are G5. To the first poster, you can add door locks, you just need the adaptors for cable locks, tricky but doable, I believe the vehicle is effectively a Ford Fiesta. Ford aftermarket cable lock actuators have been available here since Ford Europe went that way for security reasons in the mid-90s.

howieII thank for the quick response. Please let me know how a G5 alarm differs from a Clifford 330.3x or the Viper 5901.
I've been comparing the Clifford IntelliGuard 770, Clifford 330.3x, and the Viper 5901. I do like the IntelliGuard valey/ override switch. What other advantages does it have?
Also, I'd like to have a two way remote since I'm near my car at work and home (but out of site of it). Is the security of a G5 worth giving up the two way remote?
My goal is the most secure set up. I'm not worried about additional features, remote start, etc.
Thanks! Matthew ------------- Matthew Lockard

Less range it's one way only, better build quality and easier programming.
