I have a security system black widow  SPC-B2900.  Which I installed on a 97 Chevy Astro. I would like to know if I could use this unit for remote start. The unit has one auxiliary outputs(-) 500mA. If it's possible to do it can someone let me know the steps on how to do it. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Most manufacturers supply standalones e.g. DEI.

Howie II,

Thank you for  answering my question.I dont know what standalones mean. If you are talking about the manual it does not give me what I need thats why I posted it here. If its possible from you or someone else to post a diagram or let me know what cables I need to look for. It will help alot.

And one more question: If I conncet the remote start for my car will it damage the car in the future.

Your existing system might have an unused aux output. You use this to trigger the stand alone which will have no remotes of its own.
If wired correctly by a pro it will not damage the vehicle.

a standalone unit is an add on unit for remote start, and it will not come with any remotes.

it  will be activeated by an external negative trigger source.

DEi, compustar, autopage all have standalone units.

Thanks alot for your comments. I appreciated and understand that you are  trying to help me. You guys mention names and things that I don't understand. If  you guys could tell me step by step ( I have only install a few  alarn systems in cars).

I do have an unused aux output that I do plan to use. This is what I am planning to do with my car (Chevy Astro Van '97) . In the wiring diagram it asks me to connect ignition 2 for remote starting and that's when i got confuse cause I only got an unused aux output and I want to know where to connect ignition 2 and the output from the system. Please have patience with me I am a learner and thank you for everything. posted_image

The aforementioned units will each have a second ignition output or provision for one.
We can answer specific suggestions but we can't and won't hold your hand through every step. If you are in any doubt have it done by a pro.
Warning buy off fleabay etc. and you will have no warrantee.
