My brother had the Avistart 6501 installed by GoodGuys on the Honda accord 2000 V6 LX. However, they went out of business a while ago. A while back, one of his friends, reconnected the Starter wire back to the original condition for some reasons that we don't remember. Now we want to get the remote starter to work so we connected the Yellow wire to the Starter wire on the switch side and the Violet wire to the Starter wire on the Starter side. We were able to remote start but then the D4 light was flashing constantly. I've done some research online and found the following post but could not understand how to fix the problem. Have anyone run into this problem and found a solution?
"By the wiring diagram, this vehicle has an MLP sensor AND an MLP switch used to sense park and neutral only. The remote start, for safety reasons connects to the MLP switch so that it knows the car is in park (or neutral) by the remote start module's park/neutral safety circuit pulled to ground through the MLP switch. Problem is, the PCM also monitors the MLP switch... so technically that is a position sensor too. The remote start module must provide a little grounding of its own internally on that circuit because it was just enough to, every now and then, make the PCM "think" one position sensor was saying it was in D4, while the other would sometimes read that it was in park also.
... I ended up just grounding the remote start module's park lead to body and removing it from the car's harness."
