i bought 2 of the viper 5101 refurbs. it is the old style with the 5 pin harness for tach, brake etc. to me it seems as of the remotes are very cheaply made compared to the old viper 160xv. does anybody also feel this way or have any experience with the refurbs. it seems that many people have bought the refurbs but not so many people have reviews of them.

I have bought 2 refurb Viper 5301 and 2 Viper 5701 units and have had no problems so far with them. The 5301's are in my 2000 Taurus and my son's 1998 Cavalier. Both installed in April this year. The 5701's are in my daughters 2005 Focus, (Installed June) and my work Van Ford E150 in March. The work van gets used 5-6 days a week with no issues. My kids have not complained about anything other than "Dad, my batteries are dead".  go to walmart!

About the only time something goes wrong is when I go back under there to screw around with the settings or not paying attention to what I'm adding. as in rear defrost, 530t x 2, 545t,  viper flashing logo thing, ect.....

I've installed 4 refurbished 5701's in the last 6 months and haven't had an issue with any of them so far.
